LOVE this! I couldn't help to smile when I realised that you used an Olympus. I also own a Olympus SP500UZ bridge camera (bought in 2006) and has hours of satisfaction taking macro photos with it. Is there really a better macro camera than Olympus? I love the detail on the larvae and the ant's fragile figure, with the green background and posterior of the ant that contrasts so well with the reddish colour of the rest of its body. The blueish shadow anchors it firmly onto the textured metal of the gate.

I took this photo at my friend farm, the ant was on her front gate. The farm is located at Sarina QLD Australia.Time
This photo was capture at my favourite time of the day to take photo's. The golden hour is the time that I love doing photography. It was about 5.30pmLighting

Olympus Stylus Tough TG-3 Most Advanced Macro Functionality Seen in Compact Digital Cameras. In a first for the industry, the TG-3 brings four advanced macro modes. Whilst fully functional with a Super Macro Mode, the TG-3 also supports a new Microscope mode for extreme closeups, a Focus Stacking Mode for subjects with depth and a new Focus Bracketing mode.Inspiration
I have been watching these green ants go about their business for a while. They have been there every time I visit my friends farm. I had the perfect opportunity when I was to look after her place. So every time I went there,I took my camera's. It took lots of photo's just to get this one.Editing
The only post-processing was cropping. In my camera bag
Olympus Stylus Tough TG-3, Canon 500D, Canon 600D, SIGMA 150-500mm Canon Speedlite Flash Light and a Canon Film Camera.Feedback
I got an Olympus Stylus Tough TG-3 Camera for Christmas so that I could do underwater photography. Since then, I have found that I can get photo's that larger camera can not. It is not just a point and shoot camera. With all the different setting you have a lot of control over this camera. For this image I used the microscope mode for shooting as close as 1cm from your subject. It is also great camera for walking around in the rain, as it is an underwater camera. This this allows for some great rain droplet photo's.Pricey, but if you need a camera that's built and equipped for life well off the beaten track, the Olympus TG-3 is worth the money.
