Behind The Lens

Location

I captured this photo in my coolly lite living room.

Time

Around 5:30 I believe. At least that's what it appears to say on the clock.

Lighting

I wanted the image to have a sort of mysterious and fantastical feel because for some reason it reminds me of the story Alice in Wonderland, which is one of my favorite all time books. Pondering how to make a "melting" clock look mysterious, I decided that high contrast light would be best. I don't know why, it's just what felt right at the time. I cannot remember whether or not I used flash, this was a long time ago.

Equipment

I used my DSLR Pentax camera, and cleverness.

Inspiration

Honestly I had just bought the clock a day or so before I captured the image and was looking at it while I stared blankly into my living room, getting increasingly bored having just finished my homework for the day. In other words, I was bored and took the photo. Nothing really inspired me other than the clock being bizarre looking.

Editing

No I don't believe I did.

In my camera bag

Not much. I do my best to carry my camera with me every where, so I keep it in a compact bag which I keep with my purse. The camera and a few lens cleaners are all I keep in the camera case it's self.

Feedback

While shooting the clock I had to place the lens up against the plastic outer shell covering the clock face to capture a close up image of the mesmerizing object. Use bright cool light and face it onto the face of whatever object you are shooting. That is all I remember doing.
