Yeah. I could not tell if he liked me being so close or was about to come at me for being on his turf.

I didn't realize the Gray Pelicans were band and tracked Joel… any insight? … wonderful connection here!

I am pretty sure it is used to track migratory paths of the Pelicans. You can enter the code on a website to help the people who put them I track them.

He is the only one that came to me as I got closer. Lol. Not sure if he was angry or friendly. He flew off shortly after this was taken.

I reckon all he needs is a little pair of glasses perched on the end of his nose lol. Fantastic close up nature shot :)

Great shot! It's like he's saying "You lookin' at ME?" Talk about great eye contact! Well done!

I took this photo in a marina on Amelia Island, FL. I love walking around on adventures and taking pictures of whatever subjects I might find.Time
This was a terrible rainy day. I took this shot around 3 PM. I had about an hour and a half window where I could get out a interact and photograph with the birds.Lighting
Like I said, it was a bad weather day. The sun came out for a short while. I think the mix of clouds and sun provided excellent natural light that day.Equipment
I have about an economic set up as a person can get. I had a Canon t5 with an 18-55 lens.Inspiration
I loved how close most of the pelicans would let you get. However, this guy was not as outgoing with me as the others. He was off by himself. My main draw to him was the eyes. They are amazing.Editing
I did not do anything post-process wise. I generally do, but I just loved the way this picture looked when I took it. His eyes were naturally piercing. In my camera bag
I have my camera, an 18-55 lens, and a 55-250 lens. I also carry a monopod with me at all times. I almost forgot, I always carry an extra battery an memory card just in case.Feedback
My advice is find people that you can listen and learn photography principles from. I am always learning new things and I enjoy getting better. I have learned that it is not always about how much your camera is worth but more importantly how to use your camera to the best of your ability. Photography should always be about having fun. So my advice is learn and go out and have fun. Photography is fun.
