Behind The Lens

Location

The old Johannesburg fort. Now a museum

Time

Late afternoon .I used a white reflector outside and channelled the light into the cell area

Lighting

See above

Equipment

Hand held and I cant remember which camera. It was either a Canon of Minolta

Inspiration

The model was part of a combined camera club and modelling agency workshop I organised. The dress and make up were the models choice. As no other photographer was shooting her she was available I spotted an opportunity to capture her in this pose

Editing

No post process as this is a copy of a slide shot on Fuji slide film and old analogue film camera. One had to get it right in the camera

In my camera bag

Canon 7d,Canon 5d mk 11 two long lenses, canon 400 and Tamron 100-600. Canon wide angle 20mm a 85mm 1.8 canon portrait lens.

Feedback

Never be daunted to play with the light available. Use reflectors to control or create contrast in the image. Shoot in manual mode as you are then able to create the image and just enjoy taking photographs
