Location
This photo was take at the lighthouse pier in Grand Haven, Michigan.Time
This was done in the middle of the afternoon. My sister and I drove up there from Holland, Michigan to photograph the waves.Lighting
It was all natural lightingEquipment
This image was done with a Cannon EOS Rebel XS and a 300mm lens.Inspiration
My sister and I had went to Holland State Park, Ottowa Beach, to photograph the storm coming in and the waves like we usually do. Unfortunately the wind was out of the wrong direction for Holland, so we decided to take the drive to the beach in Grand Haven. This particular shot, I was just trying to get everything in one picture, pier, catwalk, waves and lighthouses.Editing
I used Lightroom to sharpen the image and make the colors pop.In my camera bag
Most often, it's just the camera with the 55mm lens, spare battery,( I tend to take hundreds of pictures), lens wipes and sometimes a 300mm.Feedback
Shoot what feels right. Don't wait for that perfect shot it will never come and you will miss some fantastic photo ops.
