Behind The Lens

Location
Taken early morning at Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, Death Valley National Park.
Time
Early morning... about 6 am.
Lighting
Curves and patterns captured and constrasted in the fleeting light.
Equipment
Canon 5d mk2 + Canon 24-70/2.8 + Manfrotto tripod
Inspiration
Extreme quiet and enduring place...
Editing
As I had used RAW mode, my first step was RAW conversion. During the conversion process it is possible to make adjustments to improve the image. These adjustments include exposure increases, contrast adjustments, white balance changes and fine-tuning and sharpness.
In my camera bag
I always pack up my huge tripod Manfrotto and Canon 5d mk2 with lenses Canon 24-70/2.8, Tokina 16-28/2.8 and Canon 70-300
Feedback
Sunrise shots are tricky because after the investment of an early wake-up, you largely have to compose in the dark and then scramble to adjust when the light starts to change.
