Behind The Lens
Location
Shot taken in Kathmandu, Nepal. I was on a phography trip and at that time, I was finding my way into portrait photography.Time
It was late afternoon.Lighting
The lighting wasn’t great, but enough to form contrast in her wrinkles.Equipment
Canon 70d with 50mm lens.Inspiration
The lady looked like she was taking a break sat on a wall. I was drawn to her because of her face. She just seemed so wise and I could only imagine how many stories she could tell. I sat with her, and even though there was the language barrier we still had a connection in the form of both being hot and tired. She had an air of calmness about her.Editing
Basic crop and convert to black and white to emphasise features. In my camera bag
Canon 70d. 50mm 10-20mm 70-200mmFeedback
If taking travel portraits, talk to people and engage with them first. The connection will hopefully show within the shot.
