Sorry for just getting back to you, been away on work. You can see the color version in my photos already. It had a pretty cool green paint scheme on it. Give it a look.

Location
This image was captured at The "Cruizin' for a Cure" car show at the Orange County Fairgrounds.Time
This was taken in the afternoon, however it was inside one of the buildings.Lighting
Because it was a bit dark inside of the building without much natural light, I adjusted the ISO up to compensate for it. I shot this at ISO 1000.Equipment
I shot this with my Canon 7D, hand held with a Canon EF 17-40mm 1:4 L USM lens. (no flash as I pumped up the ISO for this one.)Inspiration
I'm a car guy and attend a lot of car shows, new and old. My daughter has been going with me to enjoy them also for about the last 15 years. She really liked this one and wanted me to get a shot of it even though it was pretty dark inside. (her favorite car is a 57 Bel Air and is determined to own one) So I grabbed a shot for her, and myself. ;-)Editing
The editing for this was done using Lightroom and I also did selective colorizing on the original. It had some distracting colors in the background that I found helped the image by removing them. I added some noise reduction that had occurred with the higher ISO. Added some brightness and a touch of clarity. Then for this particular "monochrome" version, I used OnOne software to further enhance it. I changed it to black & white then added a bit of an HDR feel to it, which I felt added a bit more pop.In my camera bag
I have my main camera which is a Canon 7D and an older Canon Rebel just as a backup. I have a Canon ES 28-135mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS, Canon EF 17-40mm 1:4 L USM, Canon EF 75-300mm 1:4.5-5.6, 3 extension tubes 12-20-36mm (for macros) 3 extra batteries, 3x 32gb memory cards, cleaning equipment, sunscreen. Outside of the bag, I have use of a Canon EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Lens with Internal 1.4x Extender.Feedback
When I'm trying to capture images at car events/shows, the main thing I try to remember is to be patient! There are many more people trying to enjoy the same things you are. So I will get setup for the perspective I want to capture, (I'm usually trying to get a lower perspective for car shots) then I'll try and grab some shots when there's a little break in the crowd. Sometimes I'll just bring the camera up to my eye and people will get the idea that I'm trying to get a shot and will pause quickly for me to get a shot or two. Then I always thank them. (If that still doesn't work, my daughter usually will step out in front of some people so I can get it. She's become very adept at that process over the years.)
