Nature photography is a passion to me,its special moments like this that make it incredibly satisfying to be a photographer with viewbug. The photo that you are seeing here was taken at the Calgary zoo in Canada.Time
All me nature photography at the Calgary zoo is taken first thing in the morning the light is very soft ,early around 9:00Lighting
The lighting in this photo was a little tricky,lots of shadows,and I dont know if you know this ,every photo that I take I am fighting obstacles like iron bars and glass these are two quite difficult situations to deal with,reflections are very harsh and light is very critical.Equipment
The camera used was a canon XTI Rebel,the lense that I ususe was a Canon 70-300X with Image stablization,I use no tripod and no flashmall my photography is hand-held.Inspiration
My nature photography is a labour of love, animals are truly important in my life,many a time I have told the Calgary zoo that when I donate these photos to them is for the support of the animal not the Calgary zoo, Each animal I now very personally,they all have characters that I know. to be very real,I have many stories of amazing confrontations with these animals I Call My True Friends.Editing

I dont normally take a camera bag with me, I grab the lenses that I need and off I go.Feedback
Dealing with this kind of animal photography I do is Quite Difficult at times, Exposure presents a problem ,your camera is a wonderful piece of equipment, Depending on the situation ,example Reflections, off the glass always remember, its important to know ,to eliminate the reflection alway rest your lense against the glass,Very Carefully I Might Add,and take the photo,this method does work very well. Now shooting through Bars, the only way that a photographer with get these photos is the have a lense that can cut through the bars, Generally when I am taking photos I shoot at 1600 Iso, depending on the exposure adjust accordingly My setting,is on Profile,and I adjust my camera for a little bit of movement and shoot Patience is very Impotant.
