A Highland Cow at Loch Arklet in the Scottish Trossachs.
When I arrived at the loch, a few of these fearsome-looking beasts were standing by the fenceline. Knowing them to be gentle in the extreme, despite their fearsome appearance, I climbed over the fence and walked about 50 yards towards the loch .. and sat down on my rucksack and waited. Sure enough, after about 5 or 10 minutes, their curiosity got the better of them and they wandered over to see who this human was .. and before long I was being sniffed and snuffled in places I didn't even know I had places. When they discovered I didn't have any food for them, however, they lost interest .. and left me to get on with my photography.
IMPORTANT NOTE: They sometimes forget that they've got dangerous horns - so be careful!
