Oh I love this shot!!! I took this photo of a fence that is located downtown, in front of our State Capital Building (in Ohio) sometime last year. ...I'm pretty much a self taught, armature photographer. But I'm always looking to improve and learn more.Time
I want to say that is was mid-afternoon.Lighting
Well it was still mid-afternoon, so the natural light from out side worked out perfectly.Equipment
I used my Nikon D3100 (nick name ''NIKON'eee), with a zoom lens 55-200mm, f/ 7.1 Focal Length 1300/10, ISO 1600, no flash.Inspiration
I was trying to find some type of inspiration/motivation to get back into to taking photos(i had what you would call a photo block), so I was snapping away at anything and everything. So when I saw the fence, I was trying to get what you would call a ''Depth of Field'' shot . And after several attempts, I FINALLY ACHIEVED this shot, and this was the end result. And b/c the fence was black with a little rustic look to it, I thought I would make it Black and white.Editing
I cropped the photo, to get more of a closer look, I did make the fence just a little darker and the White Balance was on Auto, so there wasn't to much to do.In my camera bag
Just my camera and (2) lenses(18-55mm & 55-200mm). I don't really use my tripod. I like to keep things light and easy to get to.Feedback
Look for anything in rows, and focus on (1) subject in that row and shoot. Take multiple photos...AND try not to stop and look at your pics in between shots...can make you go BONKERS. and being surprised at what you capture at times is theee best!!! You often come out w/amazing shots that you were not trying to achieve. And most of all....JUST HAVE FUN!!!
