Photo was taken in Zadar, while I was studying, and it was experiment with my old Canon 300V film camera, somewhere about 2002Time
the Sun had already set, it was shortly after the rain had fallen, I saw the fisherman, I knelt down instantaneously, I took the shot without thinking too muchLighting
sky and the air was washed with the rain so it was crisp, left-over clouds contributed to the sunny contrast, around 6pmEquipment
there was no tripod used - only my knees and elbow, there was still sufficient sun light, though the main actor is shot into the light turning him into a sillouette;Inspiration
was just strolling around the old city looking if something would catch my eye - and so it did. the atmosphere of the moment matched my own, and instantanously I knelt down to frame itEditing
the postprocessing down included scanning the film and adjusting the contrast levelsIn my camera bag
what I now carry in my bag is Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 1 N, Canon 50mm 1.4, Canon 200mm 2.8, Canon 24-105mm 4 though , most the times it happens that I choose one lens in particular to shoot withFeedback
it is not always that you need to head out having a particular frame on your mind, though it can help some times. here the photo was taken on the spur. but, knowing what in general you can expect at a specific spot, where the light comes from, how many people to expect, if any obstructions and how you could use them in framing a shot all comes handy
