Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken right outside of our bike storage. I happened to notice this spider fella right at the center of its own web. The background was filled with pine trees about a 20 meters distance so I thought they would make a nice bokeh. There was a little struggle to keep the wall and ceiling away from the picture, but with little effort I managed to do that.

Time

If I remember right it was somewhere 5pm. The sun was dropping down and happened to give me just the light that I needed.

Lighting

The light was simply coincide with this one. Just right time and direction to give that "blurry/smoky" background and enough light for the spider and the web.

Equipment

Hand held Canon EOS400D + 55-250 IS II lense. Our bike storages wal gave me enough solid surface to lean on.

Inspiration

I've always loved small details of the nature. That's why I notice alot. This one just dropped the chance for me when I was just coming back home and looked around that one more time before going in.

Editing

Post processing is done little. Sharpening and color correction. After that I noticed that the background was too fussy so I dropped the colors and went black and white. Much better that way if you ask me.

In my camera bag

On my bag I carry just the old EOS 400D and the old kit lense 18-55 + 55-250 IS II. Nissin flash and uv-filter. That's it. I don't have the money so I try to go with passion. :)

Feedback

The one and only thing is to keep your eyes open. Look over. Look under. Tilt your head and look stupid doing that :) You might get the looks but you just might get the shots too.
