Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my backyard.

Time

It was about 5 pm when I took it.

Lighting

I used the High ISO setting at 3200

Equipment

I used a Nikon D4, 70-210 mm F2.8 lens no flash, no tripod. I took it from my truck leaned camera on truck door.

Inspiration

The snow on the white-tailed deer inspired me to try for shots.

Editing

I did post process in photoshop with some actions I had purchased. The raw file also allowed adjustments brfore the filter actions.

In my camera bag

A few different lenses, clean cloth, remote shutter, flash, batteries, memory cards, and I keep a couple big lenses near or bring them with me like a 300 and 500mm

Feedback

The only advice I can give to capture a few families of white-tailed deer is number one: Patient and Still. They are so worth capturing so if you see where they frequent they will be back. If you have a safe farm that may throw corn and away from road of course they will show up. Be patient and still. Do not make eye contact, If they see you walk weird LOL they are curious- but really be still and no eye contact. If you dont move they wont and will enjoy the foriage in front of you. They dont mind the shutter. Dont wear perfume. Dont eat, Dont smoke and give them the hour!
