Early one January morning as a dark winter storm was rolling in, one white fluffy cloud seemed determined to brighten the horizon.

I arrived at this location early to photograph the sunrise - which initially didn't look like it would amount to much. But I waited patiently as I could see a fast moving storm coming in across the bay. The sunrise was spectacular - all pink and fiery... but I lingered just a bit longer to capture this image. The light on Georgian Bay when the storms roll through is nothing short of spectacular.

I added motion blur to the water in this image in post processing to smooth it out and eliminate the distraction of the many small floating ice sheets.
