Great outstanding photo, composition and texture. But did you hear the one ...It goes something like this- when I die I want to be buried head first. So then everyone.....Write back if you want to hear the punch line. But seriously, it is an awesome picture no matter how you look at it.

Do I really need to comment on why I personally like this photo? Aside from the professional quality of this capture the subject matter has definitely got my attention.

This was lit by two 4'x1' gridded strip boxes placed behind the models at 45*Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 5DmkII with a 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 70mm, and Profoto flashesInspiration
This was part of a larger project called Multiscapes which was inspired while walking in the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley NP. I came to a series of dunes that looked like the curves of a woman's body and reminded me of some bodyscape shots I had done in the past. When I had the opportunity to do bodyscapes with 5 models I attempted to recreate the shapes of those sand dunes.Editing
Post-processing was minimal, I darkened the background to make it pure black and did some skin retouching to get rid of blemishes. In my camera bag
Canon 5DmkII, Canon 17-40mm F/4L, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L, Canon 24-105mm f/4L, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L, Canon 580 strobe, 4 pocket wizards, intervalometer, CamRanger, lots of memory cards, batteries, and business cards.Feedback
Draw sketches and pre-visualize the shots you want to get before going to the studio, they don't have to be elaborate, just enough to convey your idea and jog your memory. For lighting have the lights very low, just slightly higher than the model so you get the light to rake across the surface of the model's body.
