It is kind of scary up this high on the summit and then looking up with the sky moving by can give one the feeling of vertigo.

It sure does give one the idea it could pierce the clouds and often the whole summit will be covered with clouds. Thanks for the vote

Jack's Peak is home to a radio tower array and has a very primitive road to its summit. The summit is at Latitude 32.5823016 Longitude 108.4253268. It is located on the Continental Divide at an elevation of 7,985', midway between Lordsburg and Silver City. Just below the summit are the old foundations of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory which was in use from 1938-1946. The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (APO) gathered solar constant data. The solar constant is the total amount of energy received from the sun per unit time per unit area exposed normally to the Sun's rays at the average Sun Earth distance and outside of the Earth's atmosphere.
