Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken after a heavy snow storm. It shows the dry grasses against white snow background.

Time

It was taken at afternoon with cloud after snow.

Lighting

By turning into a black and white photo, I tried to creat a sense of Chinese ink brush painting to show the elegant curve of the grasses, which brings out the tranquility of Zen teaching.

Equipment

Nikon D5300.

Inspiration

The negative space and the organic curve of the grasses takes me to a Zen garden.

Editing

I converted the photo to black and white and also increased the exposure to completely white out the snow background.

In my camera bag

Nikon D5300 with a 18 to 200 mm traveler lens.

Feedback

Use the negative space and read about the oriental arts.
