This was taken from one of my hikes in the rain forest near my home.Time
it was a lonely and unfruitful hike in the late morning until this colorful beauty flew pass me. Quickly i follow and it happens to land briefly on a leaf nearby. That is all i asked for and i snap it in one shot.Lighting
Light is all around us but we must learn to see it. Like this beauty that happens to land on a good lit area is a God sent. Be prepare always to get that shot.Equipment

I am just a nature lover and like to hike a lot. When i see a good spot i will usually return with my camera to grab some shots.Sometimes I have to wait for just the right amount of light. My inspiration comes from my satisfaction when I get a good shot.Editing
In this case there is not much for me to do since its so colorful. Just crop a bit and adjust the highlights and shadows in Light-room.In my camera bag
Nikon D 7000, tele zoom and macro lens. If landscape then i bring along a wide angle lens.Feedback
I always shoot in raw. This gives me some leeway to do post processing and have all the details with the shot. Be always on the look out for good locations and subjects. Shoot as much as you possibly can. Most important is learn to critique your own images and never repeat your mistakes again. Happy and fruitful shooting!!
