Being an amateur enthusiast and have a true passion of photographing barns in rural settings, it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful barn landscapes can be. This is my favorite photo yet. And was taken on the back roads of middle TN.Time
I am always traveling the back roads, off the beating path, trying to capture the true essence and beauty which the rural settings behold. This particular scene was taken on a late afternoon in December 2014.Lighting
Being in late afternoon prior to the sun escaping the vibrance of this country hollow proved to be the perfect natural lighting I was trying to secure. Early morning or late afternoon natural lighting seems to photograph best in this type of landscape.Equipment
My camera is a Nikon D3200. The lens was 55-200mm. A tripod was used. No flash. Only natural lighting.Inspiration
Being a true country girl, I believe the backbone of our country was founded by farmers. My inspiration comes from God, first and foremost, my family heritage, and frequently visiting web sites such as fineartamerica.com/art/photographs/barn and searching images of barn photography. By visiting these sites gives ideas of composition and creativity.Editing
Usually any landscape photography requires some post-processing to achieve the correct color and balance. With this particular photo I developed 1 raw shot. Then corrected & brightened to boost the colors of the leaves. That was about all the processing that was used.In my camera bag
Nikon D3200 camera, back up battery, 55-200mm lens, 18-55mm lens. Also carry my tri-pod.Feedback
My advice to others would be to know the area, particularly when the sun could enhance the scene. Always carry your camera with you. When traveling & searching for the perfect photograph, have patience and tolerance to accept or overcome challenges that may occur when trying to achieve the perfect photo. Always challenge yourself to improve your skill.
