Story behind the photo: I rented a Nikon 600mm lens for the weekend, and after mediocre results from Friday and Saturday night, Sunday was my last chance. I set up at Alpental (a ski area), and waited for the moon to rise above a ridge. Soon after the moon was supposed to rise, I realized that the ridge was way too steep to capture the moon on the horizon. I just about called it quits, and took a scenic route back to the freeway, when I saw low rolling hills and the moon just beginning to shine through the trees. It was a mad dash at that point, but luckily just in time to capture this one shot!

This photo is not Photoshopped (I don't use Photoshop on any of my images, nor do I own the program).
