The umbrella moved slowly with no other purpose but what it was designed for. Slight movements from right to left, up and down, it was guided by a soul with no direction. It shed winters tears but couldn’t protect its person who carried its weight. No one witnessed the loneliness of this lost soul on this his last stroll. No crowds lined the road to say goodbye. But if he had glanced to the right he would have seen him. Blended in the shadows of winters damp dark moods. He watched from the shelter of a tree. He wasn't there to stop him....He didn’t even care...He was only a piece of a past that couldn't be changed. An observer from days long gone...He didn't cause the loneliness of the Umbrella Soul. The loneliness was built of years of misunderstandings and exhaustion of trying for others. With no answers...Umbrella Soul continued down the road. The end was near... Umbrella Soul turned and saw himself at the roadside. They smiled at each other... then both disappeared.
