Location
We are very lucky to live in a very beautiful place where 5 minutes walk takes you to a stunning hidden lake and woods. The kids and I love going there and do so daily with our little dog Sookie. I always bring my camera and this day was just another one of those days. It was raining though so I couldn't get my usual magical sunny photos, instead I embraced the rain and really enjoyed the mood of it :) I took a quick shot of my youngest son when he was still for a brief moment and that's the one you see here.Time
This was shot in the afternoon in the rain. It was grey and wet ;)Lighting
I shoot in natural light as much as I can. I only use a speedlite when I take photo's of my kids sleeping. This has got light coming in from his right side where the lake is.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS 5D mark III and Sigma 35mm 1.4Inspiration
Every day life inspires me to take photos! I especially love children and the way they live, they run free and have no worries about how they look on camera. It's unposed and natural. It's right now captured for me, forever. I love that.Editing
I always edit my photos. I love editing just as much as taking photos. Maybe it's because I love to draw and paint too? I use photoshop and I use a mix between actions and my own recipes. I love to experiment and I spend a long time on each photo. My favourite actions are from Greater than Gatsby. They have that dreamy feel that I love so much.In my camera bag
Canon EOS 5D mark III is always hanging on my shoulder, I don't use handbags like most girls do, as long as I have my camera I'm good :) If I am going on a shoot I bring my 7D as well including my Canon 60mm macro, Canon 70-200mm 2.8, Canon 85mm 1.8 and of course Sigma 35mm 1.4 When I go out on a walk I normally choose between the 70-200mm or the 35mm 1.4 depending on what feel I am after. The 35mm is more lifestyle whereas the 70-200mm has such a dreamy bokeh and can be used without the kids noticing ;)Feedback
Shoot as often as possible. Keep practising. READ and study every day. Don't give up!
