How Much I value Books

For me, books are source of knowledge. If we have knowledge we have power. I can reminisce the days since I was young until my high school life which I did not have any. Parents were poor and instead of buying books they bought foods. I can still remember the times when I saw some rich kids reading books and I envy them. I was born in the hinterland part of the Philippines and was schooled in a public school were the ratio of books to students was 1:5 meaning 1 book for 5 students and nobody was aloud to bring such book into our homes. So when I did research I need to write it down to my notebook. Life was so tough but when I went to study college I worked and a little amount of my money was intended to buy books and I never went into movie and never bought luxury stuffs. When I moved here in USA, I saw lots of books and very affordable. Thinking back to the country where I was born, I would be very happy if I could share those with the people who cannot buy for their own.
