Possibly the best highlight of a trip this week to the Pembrokeshire coast, was finding a secluded beach where we spied a seal pup at the waters edge.

Getting as close as I dared (very difficult to tiptoe on shingle with walking boots on) with the Sigma 150-500mm we were rewarded (and relieved) when mum came out the water. I managed to find a rock to perch on that was not too close, although mum could hear the camera going off. She seemed more concerned though about the other seal in the water. Both were wonderfully relaxed and the pup looked very healthy.

We could have stayed there all afternoon but remembered we still had 4 miles to get back to the car! But it was worth lugging the big lens, even though I took it for bird shots.
