This photo was taken at a wedding at Villa Cristina in Atlanta, Georgia.Time
I am not a professional photographer. This wedding was on November 1st. The weather all week had been very nice and sunny. I went to the venue to "practice" taking pictures. Then on the wedding day the weather took a turn for the worse. It was freezing cold. I teased the Canadian guest about bringing the cold from up north. We had to take all pictures inside which I was not as prepared for. The bride and groom agreed to run outside for a few minutes and I got a few quick shots. This was taken about 5:00pmLighting
I used a flash because it was a very cloudy overcast cold day.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon 6D. Lens: EF 85mm F1.8 USM. Settings: 1/80 2.8 ISO 125. Flash: Yes with Gary Fong Filter .Inspiration
The bride had a beautiful henna tattoo on her hand. I wanted a picture that the bride would cherish forever that showed the henna tattoo. I know that a lot of time was spent on the tattoo and I wanted to make sure it was preserved forever.Editing
The only post processing done was I reduced the blacks a little bit in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I pack my Canon 6D and a back up camera Canon T4i. I have my 85mm F1.8 lens for portraits. My kit lens 24 to 105 for a lot of shots but I end up cropping quite a bit. I use my lensbaby composer pro for at least a couple of shots. I try to use my tripod but end up getting frustrated so I end up taking it off. I use an eyecup to help keep makeup off of the back of my viewer but most important it helps me to steady the camera since I don't use a tripod very often.Feedback
I just asked the bride and groom to look at each other. I entitled the shot LOOK AT ME. Look at me... are we doing the right thing? This is forever and ever.
