There's so much more to this photo than meets the eye! My stepson was born with cystic hygroma and has had to overcome a lot of challenges in his life. It is more than amazing that he is able to do the things that he does and to be able to capture the things he was never expected to do is one of my life's most rewarding experiences!

Location
I took this photo on my mom's property in rural Colton, Oregon. It's so beautiful there!Time
This was taken about mid afternoon when the sun had started to make some really nice slanting shadows.Lighting
All natural lighting at its best!Equipment
I used a Canon 5d with a 17-40mm wide angle lens.Inspiration
My stepson Gannon was born with cystic hygroma and has been somewhat limited in his life in the activities he can partake in. Now that he's older he is able to do some pretty exciting things, like ride a dirt bike and catch some air! I can't help but follow him and my son around as they get older and start to test their boundaries. Though usually shy on camera, they are more than ready to pose for the camera for action shots.Editing
I post processed and added some contrast and a little bit of HDR to really make the photo and the subject stand out.In my camera bag
My Canon 5D and my favorite lens, the 17-40mm wide angle. I have a couple of inexpensive tripods, filters for all of my lenses, and remotes for both of my camera bodies. I also have a Canon T1i, 50mm fixed lens, and 100-300mm lens.Feedback
Get close, get on the ground, get dirty, and get a wide angle lens! The wider angle will allow you to get closer to the subject while still taking in the surrounding area.
