Sand wasps do a sundance, they spin in a circle maintaining the distance in a show of dominance while the female wasp digs a hole in the sand below to nest, I was very fortunate to even capture this event it happened so fast, In a blink of an eye! I shot this with a 50-500 Sigma lens at 500mm from my knees, manual focus and hand held, as I was just trying to focus on the wasp digging the hole, I had seen just minutes before two male wasps doing the dance above her so I was trying to figure out a more or less focus point in case they come back while I wait when all of the sudden these two just fly right in front of my focus point on the lens as I was looking through the viewfinder, I was about ten feet away and almost always have my setting on high continues shooting, I just pushed the shutter button as fast as I can! I took all seven shots I didn't know if I got anything good or anything at all? this shot was the one and only of the seven, I have tried going back to see if I could attempt to capture this event again and it hasn't been easy, they almost look like Sumo wrestlers...
