I shot this photo at Vail ski resort in Colorado, while skiing the back bowls.Time
Me and my cousins were skiing in Vail for 4 days. We had skied on Ice for three days and not looking forward to a fourth day of it. But on the fourth morning we woke up to 10 inches of powder! We threw all our gear on as fast as possible, I grabbed my little Fuji film shock proof camera and we headed out. This photo was taken at about noon, when the snow was finally letting up. It was the perfect day, and an amazing way to end our trip.Lighting
The sun shining through the snow and the big puffy clouds made the sky look like a painting.Equipment
This photo was shot with a FujiFilm FinePix XP90.Inspiration
I brought my camera along on this trip for this purpose. I had been trying to capture a picture of skiing and snow that accurately depicted the feeling of flying through the trees and feeling free. I didn't think I would capture it so well!Editing
The post processing of this photo was quite simple, the sun did a lot of the work for me, making the whole scene seem pretty dramatic. All that I did was sharpen the colors and crop out a small tree the disrupted the focus. In my camera bag
My bag changes a lot with every shoot especially because I have a diverse set of hobbies . This day it was a little different because I was not shooting with my DSLR but with my Fuji film. So the only thing I carried with me was a spare battery, because you never know how long a battery will last you in the cold.Feedback
Chances for photos like this definitely involve a fair amount of luck, but also, its important to be observant of your surroundings. When taking this photo, I noticed some nice looking trees, and then noticed my Uncle flying through those nice looking trees, so I pulled out my camera and waited for them to line up. The most important thing I could say though, is to always have your camera with you, There have been countless moments that I have caught on camera simply because you are often in the right place at the right time for something to be happening.
