Location
This image was captured in the Grand Mesa National Forest atop the the Grand Mesa outstide Grand Junction Colorado.Time
The late afternoon sun softly penetrates the trees in this early autumn photograph.Lighting
Because of the hour and time of year the sunlight was very soft and provided great backlighting to accentuate the beautiful golds of the Aspen leaves.Equipment
This image was captured with a Canon EOS-7D DSLR on a tripod. The lens was my Tamron 18 - 270 mm equipped lens with a UV filter.Inspiration
The beauty of the golden leaves backlit by the golden sun combined to make this a beautiful inspiration.Editing
The only enhacements to this photo are color saturation. In my camera bag
A Canon EOS-7D DSLR on a tripod and a Tamron 18 - 270 mm lens equipped with a UV filter. The Tamron is a great all-purpose lens for hiking and backpacking since it really is the only lens you will need.Feedback
The time of day (and in this case - the time of year) can greatly increase your chances of capturing a similar image. The softness of the sunlight allowed me to shoot directly into the sun without reducing the quality of the image. Early morning and early evening sun angles allow for great contrast and are therefore great times to capture images.
