This photo was taken as part of a "Boudoir Marathon" I did with a few of my clients in Victoria, BC, CanadaTime
This has been taken at about 3 pm in the afternoon in January - facing the beautiful Ocean. The lamps on the bed have been the only additional light source I had. She was facing the sky and Ocean. I love natural light shooting.Lighting
I try to use as much natural light as I can. I have a speed flash and video lights, but i am not yet very comfortable using them. The natural light makes the image look so much more real :)Equipment
I used my Nikon D600 with my 14-24 mm f/2.8G Focal length at 16 mm Aperture f/2.8 Shutter Speed 1/125s ISO 200 Enhanced in PSInspiration
I always get inspired by my clients. I always try to get at least 3-5 images from one position. If you lower yourself to your subject, its amazing what you'll get for an outcome. Same as when you rise yourself much higher My inspirations are always "in the moment" captured images. I love daydreaming ;)Editing
I post-process the image, soften the skin, enhanced the brightness, sharpen it and last but not least some lens vignetting. It didn't need much.In my camera bag
I use my Nikon D600 most, but have my older Nikon D90 as backup always with me, charged and ready to go, if needed. I also have a few lenses with me - depend on what I am shooting. Mostly my 24-70mm f/2.8 (for Weddings, Engagement), 70-200mm f/2.8, 14-24mm f/2/8, 50mm f/1.4 and my latest favourite my 105mm f2.8 macro lens. I also have at least 2 full sets of spear batteries for my speed flash (SB900), 2 video lights and my Omega ReflectorFeedback
Try to get out of your comfort zone. Natural light is always the best way to capture your subject. Try to lower yourself to your subject eye level and take your time. Check if your are happy with your outcome, mostly it will be hard to re-produce it with your client again. Blow up your image on your camera to see if everything is in focus as you wanted it. Most of all - Have fun. We all had a super fantastic fun time and a great workout - I could feel it for 3 days after lol
