Location
I took this photo while walking on the streets of Copenhagen. I just stumbled with these wonderful orange houses with colourful doors and windows and I immediately thought that it would be wonderful to include a bike there. It took a while until I found the perfect spot and content.Time
It was a gloomy afternoon and I tried to make the best of the conditions I had.Lighting
Luckily, the little light I had reflected nicely on the wall, so it was just perfect, with no shadows that would make the composition awkward.Equipment
I used a Sony A7 with an adapted Zeiss Contax G 35/2.Inspiration
I thought that it was a great image of the city, that reflected its use of the bicycle, the dim light, the colourful buildings and its sense of proportion.Editing
I did the usual checking on levels and very little else.In my camera bag
I usually have a normal lens, a 35 and a wide. At times I also have a 90mm. Often these lenses are old manual lenses or Contax G. This is why I feel that the Sony A7 is such a wonderful camera, since it lets me use any lens I want.Feedback
It is just a matter of having your radar on and to have an idea of what you want to capture even before you actually see the elements of the picture. In this case, I knew what I wanted and I worked to get it.
