Location
This photo was taken on the edge of the Florida Everglades, just off the expressway.Time
This photograph was taken late in the day. I had been taking pictures of the sun setting over the Everglades and was making the walk back to the road. I looked back and saw the cyclist riding along the levee.Lighting
The sun had fully set and the sky was such a dark golden orange. I liked the contrast of the silhouette Cyclist against the firey sky.Equipment
I used my Sony Nex camera and its kit lens I had recently received.Inspiration
This photo really was just a spur of the moment. I was finished taking pictures of the sunset but just had to capture a final one as I walked back to my car and noticed the silhouette of the bike.Editing
I did some cropping of the photo and a slight adjustment to the contrast to enhance the silhouette and sky.In my camera bag
Three things I always keep in my camera bag is a cleaning cloth, an extra battery and a rain poncho! All have been life savers at one time or another.Feedback
Sunsets and sunrises are perfect times to capture silhouettes since the sky is full of color and your subjects are darkened by the backlight of the sun. I especially like it when the subject is active in some way - running, fishing, riding... I think it adds a bit of interest to the photograph.
