I took this photo the first year it flowered. My brother brought it back from France when her went with school and it was the school's ever trip as it was a brand new school. We had never seen such large casablanca lily flowers. It was absolutely stunning. To this day it still flowers without fail every year.Time
I took this photo at 8 in the morning before I dissappeared to go to school. It was a dewy morning and quite light and sunny although you could feel the slight crisp in the air oven though it was spring... but that's the UK for you!Lighting
The lighting was pure natural lighting. Sun coming from the east side of the garden and being partly shaded by the bushes behind.Equipment
Samsung nx1700 camera. No flash and no tripod.Inspiration
The pure fact it was the first time the lolly had flowered and because the flowers were just so bigEditing
I darkened the backdrop slightly to enuance the viewers experience of the flower in its purest form. I did this in Adobe photoshop light room a few years back.In my camera bag
I have a spare lens, gorilla grips of two different sizes and a small tripod. And of course the extra SD cards that photographers always need.Feedback
When I took this I was about 9, so didn't have much experience at all. I played around with different angles and took about 25 photos of the same thing. Ten started to do some edit's and this one came out the best of all. I say have a go. See what it gets you and eventually you will get the right photo. Obviously that's harder to do if you are taking Pl life firm and things similar but start small, learn along the way and you will produce some cool photos.
