Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Natural history museum London

Time

the photo was taken around mid day

Lighting

the light was even around the building being around midday. I would have liked a beam of light say coming from the top left hand side but was pleased . put up the ISO to around 200

Equipment

this was taken on my nikon D5100 no tripod was used as there is a ban on them in the museum .Rested camera on the stair bannister the lens was a 24- 85 mm nikon

Inspiration

i have away loved Architecture and this must be the most inspiring building for any photographer who love old buildings. i have often seen other photos taken when the museum as been empty. but no such luck on a friday afternoon and i just wanted to see if i could to the same as the pro's

Editing

IiiI used Photomatix for sharpening then Efex pro 4 in that i used total contrast with a little pro contrast and some graduated Nautral density. i try not to use to much then photoshop to remove all the people from the floor the only to people i could not remove are on the stairs in the end i think i might add to the picture

In my camera bag

Spare Battery's Sutter release cable notebook and pen cleaning cloth 3 polarised filters 24 mm prime lens and my 24-85 mm lens and my now full frame nikon d700 and giottos tripod if i need it and a torch if i doing a night shoot

Feedback

if you in a museum like this with loads of people you just have to be patient to get the right spot and take a many photos as you can in different modes
