Location
I took this photo a few years ago in a small village, next to where my stepmother & father live :) (in Germany)Time
It was quite early in the morning, maybe around 8am.Lighting
I only worked with available light.Equipment
Camera Canon 5D Mark II, lens 24-105mm, no flash or any other equipment.Inspiration
The idea was to create a very deep and mysterious atmosphere in the fog. I checked the weather forecast and I knew, we would have fog on the next morning. I wanted to show different emotions - fear - because we cannot see far because of the fog, insecurity - the girl is running - courage - the girl is running forward, arms wide open - and also the mysterious part wherefore we cannot see her face. In this time I was struggling hard with depressions, I wasn't sure where my path would lead me, I was afraid to move forward and if there is any path in front of me. So the inspiration for this series was my own fears and a way to defeat them.Editing
Yes - I changed to colors to warm tones and added motion blur to strengthen the movement. In my camera bag
My camera, my 85mm and my 24-70mm, a reflector, lipstick, eyeliner and basic makeup to correct the makeup on location, tissues, bobby pins, my smartphone, batteriesFeedback
This is quite a personal piece, so it's difficult to give advices to replicate this photo. However my first adivce would be to look inside you. What emotions are currently quite strong inside of you? Which fears do you have, how do you feel and do you think there is any way to solve the problems or get along with your emotions? Regarding fog photos - the best season for fog photos is autumn. Check the weather forecast and get up as early as possible! The fog can vanish quite fast, so you wont have much time. Besides you wont need to carry much equipment with you.
