Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on board a Carnival Cruise ship! This was one of many desserts they were preparing for their Mexican dinner theme night! It looked so beautiful (as most food does on cruises), that I had to photograph it!

Time

Time of day, I believe, was late afternoon. The kitchen chefs were prepping for the evening meal.

Lighting

There was natural lighting on board the ship but also overheard lights in the kitchen.

Equipment

I used an old point and shoot Sony Coolpix camera for this particular photo. No tripod, no flash because there was plenty of lighting.

Inspiration

Obviously the beauty of this cake inspired me! Look at the scrumptious strawberries and cake and cream in the middle! They made this cake into a masterpiece work of art!

Editing

I always do some sort of editing on my photos. At time of capture, I simply snap. I crop, color correct or whatever needs to be done one I see the photo.

In my camera bag

DSLR, point and shoot, my iPhone, charging cables, extra memory cards, extra batteries, Lens, lens filters, lens cloth.

Feedback

Always have a camera of some sort ready. You never know when you will get the opportunity to take a picture of something inspiring.
