This Photo was taken in a very popular sea side in India . I was traveling in this awesome place while I got this .Time
This is really one of my favorite Image . This photo was taken on 19.04.2013 at 7.02 AM . I just woke up in early morning and went for walk at that sea beach just to feel the morning beauty and to catch up sunrise , so I was just hanging around while I saw them , I did not waste my time to capture that story , I took a step forward,composed the frame set the exposer triangle and boom ( clicked ) and got this .Lighting
The hard light of the sun from the upper side was really making great contrast and in that contrast their natural formation attracted me , for those light. The foreground midground and background was looking so dramatic . And I made it monochrome ( Black and white ) cause Black and white love contrast . As per me this one is a very good example of Figure To Ground rule .Equipment
This was shoot on a Nikon D5100 with 18-55 mm Kit in Hand held .Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo by the story and the lighting . Really I tried to convey the daily life story of those fishermen . This sea beach is a very popular vacation place and tourist spot , in background you can see they are enjoying sea where these fisherman are doing their daily job and struggling to earn their livelihood . and those contrast light really made a painting look,as per me .Editing
I shoot raw fine so basically I edited this raw file , I down the highlight mean the over cast area then I just played little bit with Shadow Exposer and Contrast like the basic touches and obviously I made profile correction in lightroom and cleared some detractive elements in photoshop . Because I shoot raw I just tried to pull out details not to over do or over process .In my camera bag
I am really a low budget guy so I do not have expensive gears just till now I Have a Semi-Slr Nikon L120 and D-Slr Nikon D5100 with 18-55 kit , a 70-300 mm sigma and a sigma 10-20 mm lens . A black rapid yeti strap to hold two cameras . a slick tripod and a smiledrive gorillapod . This is really just for travelling. these are inexpensive gears compared to the other gears . These are light weight to carry .Feedback
Though rules are made to be broken but some rules work most of the time These approximately maintain the Golden triangle for horizontal line in photography , Figure To Ground which means to find contrast between subject and background , Using three ground foreground midground and background . And the key things is how you are trying to convey the story . I know in this big ocean of Photography I am nothing but I just tried to share some of my experiences of 5 years hard work , learnings and dedication .
