Location
The lady that lived next door to me grew lovely flowers. She would let me roam her yard all summer to get shots like this one.Time
I would get out in the morning before the sun came up over the trees to capture some of the flowers that bloomed early. This image was taken before 8:00am.Lighting
I try to use natural light when capturing images of flowers. I go out when it's bright but shaded and also on cloudy days. This image was taken on a bright day with a bit of shade.Equipment
My camera is Canon XSi, the lens is a Vivitar Macro lens.Inspiration
I was inspired by all the beautiful flowers my neighbor was able to grow. This flower was attractive and I took many shots of it.Editing
At this time I don't do any post-processing but I plan to in the future. In my camera bag
My camera bag has my Canon 75-300mm telephoto lens and a Canon 35-80mm kit lens. I also carry my Canon Speedlite 420EX. I have several filters as well. I carry the Macro lens or the wide angle lens for specific shoots, I don't carry them all the time. And of course my camera, the Canon XSi.Feedback
The advise I would give is to try different settings to different effects. Play with depth of field and different angles. See things more than one way. Take your time and do your best to get it in camera.
