This shot was taken around midnight just after it stormed. I was in my front yard and the lightning was still pretty intense.Time

I was hoping that I had the correct settings. I think this was shot 50 out of 60Equipment
the camera was a Nikon D3300 the lens was a 18-55mm, I was set up on a tripod but no flash. I had also just received the Lightning Bug that I ordered from BH Photo and was hoping to get a decent shot.Inspiration
I have often wondered how awesome it would be if I were able to photograph lightning. i have seen work of very outstanding photographers who done these type of photos and was amazed on how beautiful the image turned out.Editing
i just played around with the auto processing that is in the windows media programsIn my camera bag
I currently have a Nikon D3200 because my D3300 I accidentally dropped and broke the housing. i couldn't afford a new 3300 so i picked up the 3200 at a nearby pawn shop. for 100 dollars. so far it works great. i have a nikkor 75-300 mm lens, and a vivitar series 1 100-400mm lens but i think it is for a canon.Feedback
if you can get the lightning bug for your camera it is really a neat tool. i tried to use just the settings on my camera but was continually frustrated. i am an amateur photographer but i love trying to figure out ways to improve on my photography all the time.
