Just get out there and try . You can read as many books as you like and look at as many images as you like! But if you don't take the pictures you will never succeed . The more pictures you take the luckier you get! If you take 100 pictures to get 1 good image and it takes you a year to take them well that's just one good image a year not that great. On the other hand if you take 100 pictures a day that's 365 good images a year! You do the math.
