Photo was taken a Rivervale in Western Australia, along the Swan RiverTime
Time of day was early afternoon with very little shadows castLighting
Lighting was shadowed where i was positioned, shooting out into bright sunlight early afternoon. Apeture selected was f/5, shutter speed 1/500, ISO 100.Equipment
This image was shot with a Canon 600d (KISS X5 Canon) and an 18-55mm lens, nothing over the top as I am an infrequent shooterInspiration
I was in Perth as my father in hospital, after a very long morning in the hospital my father dozed off to sleep, I was back at the motel unit where I was staying from the balcony I saw some people walking along the river bank , i decided to go down and have a look at the river, taking my trusty freind. Upon arrival I found myself in what seemed to be the most private serene place that I never thought would have existed in the city. I sat on the end of the jetty for a short while, I took some photos from the end of the jetty, then from the shore line with the most brilliant green leaved flame tree took 3-4 photos there then moved on.Editing
Post processing was conversion from RAW to JPEG and Monochrome filter with Corel paint shop pro 7 Not being an expert with post processing with digital program software, learning different techniques is a slow process with me in particular, i like to keep processing simple. I rarely capture images in colour now as I prefer B&W photographyIn my camera bag
Camera 600D canon with 4 spare batteries,2 spare 32b memory cards Neutral Density 4, 6 and 8 filters. Yellow filter for B&W shooting, Star filter, Canon 18-55 mm lens Canon 55 - 300 zoom lens, Sigma 10-20mm lens. Nero Lightening trigger and various trigger cables Meike battery pack and infrared control, Velbon tripod.Feedback
I have always followed advise given to me by a very acomplished photogropher, to always look behind the position that you are standing in. Take lots of photos of the same inage as you can always delete what is not usable, Never be worried about shooting landscape in harsh lighting, always look for what can be not what it is.
