Luv the subject and the black out line of the bird personally I may have cropped out more black as it very over powering.

The dramatic glow of the Sun on fog usually makes for wonderful and dramatic landscape shots. I did not see the Blue Heron initially but when I did I probably got 25-30 shots before he flew awayEditing
This shot was cropped 16x9 and levels were adjusted to provide additional contrastIn my camera bag
On my landscape outings I usually have a Nikon d7000 with 70x300 and a Nikon D600 with 24x120 lens both VR no tripodFeedback
Certainly get out in the fog on the water if you can. Try to find a spot where the landscape is backlit. This combination provides great opportunities
