Wind and Weather Volcanic Ridge (andesite).

This is a photo of one of the many volcanic slopes made of mineral andesite of the Saddle Rock Canyon Formation. This canyon is part of the Mangas Spring quadrangle 12 miles northwest of the Tyrone mine in New Mexico. This andesite ridge is a greenish-gray color which is porphyritic (consists of course crystals).
