The day this image was taken, my team and I had set out to explore the abandoned buildings of Gary, Indiana to photograph the designer's steampunk inspired corsets and accessories. While exploring we found the wall of light and we were ispired to capture that kind of beauty in the darkness of the abandoned building.Editing

I always have my Nikon D600, a 50mm lens, a wide angle lens, extra batteries, and extra memory cards. I also recommend carrying water or snacks with you, especially when shooting on location.Feedback
To capture an image like this, it is best to find an area with as much light as possible. Take the time to explore and plan during your photo shoot, but if something truly captures your attention, photograph it immediately, you never know when the settings could change. Also, for an this like this, I used a wide (3.5) aperture so we could still get some details of the shadows without over exposing the highlights
