Location
I created this image in South Africa while on Safari with Idube Photo Safaris, in the Madikwe Game Reserve. This guy was crossing the dirt road.Time
I made this image at Approx 3:47 PM, the light was just starting to Golden up.Lighting
Beautiful Afternoon light.Equipment
I used a Canon 5dMKIII with a Canon 180 Macro prime lens. No tripod.Inspiration
I love photographing nature, any type of nature. However wildlife is my passion. When I looked at this amazing Chameleon and I was directly drawn to the eyes. I wanted to show just how wonderful a creation they were. Given that the main predators that go for these guys are snakes, their eyes are designed to keep a sharp look out in all directions.Editing
Not Much, brought the Light up a bit on the eye.In my camera bag
I normally carry a Canon 5dMKIII, A Canon 6d, Canon Lenses, 300, 600 primes, 28-300, 180 Macro, and a sigma 150-600Feedback
I had to be very patient when getting this image, waiting for the Chameleon to get in the right spot. I played on the ground so I could get the lens to the Chameleons eye level. I rested my elbows and held my breath when taking the image to limit any camera shake.
