Location
This Photo was taken at a home studio. I am a self taught photographer, every photo i take is a new lesson for me.Time
This was done in the evening at around 9pm.Lighting
I had the subject facing the window, the only lighting that was used to light the subject was a wireless external flash that was facing the subject from the outside.Equipment
I used the sony A57 that was mounted on a tripod and the sony hvl f60m flash that was on another tripod outside facing the subject.Inspiration
I wanted to try something different with flash photography, where i had nothing lighting the subject but the flash. I had numerous attempts with trying to capture the image as nothing seemed right. I had changed the angle of the subject and the flash capturing this image with excellent detail. Capturing a great shadow affect on the image.Editing
With this image i did a light processing in photoshop adjusting the shadows, highlights and contrast. In my camera bag
I have the sony a77ii, sony a99 now the new sony a7s added to my collection. Lenses i carry is the tamron 70200 f2.8, sony 1650 f2.8, tamron 2470 f2.8 and the sigma art 35mm f1.4 also carring 2 external flashes and a tripod.Feedback
Flash photography is a bit tricky to get right with the lighting of the flash. My advice is to experiment with different angles and different strength. Adding different light source to light your subject, wether it is studio flash or external flash. With me 1 external flash was enough to capturing the subject.
