Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my backyard. When I woke up on a beautiful friday morning, there was frozen fog, creating a beautiful winter wonder land!

Time

As mentioned before; it was in the morning. I had an exam that morning so I had to go there first, but all I could think of was how bad I wanted to go outside with my camera. My grade wasn't really good, what a surprise, haha.

Lighting

There was some nice soft light because of all the fog, which gave a soft feeling to the image. No other light was involved.

Equipment

Only my Nikon D3300 with my 50mm. 1.8 lens

Inspiration

The beautiful day was the only inspiration I needed for this shot. It's really hard to not get outside and photograph this kind of beauty!

Editing

A little, I added some contrast, and did a little bit with color curves, but it was just really beautiful straight out of the camera, some cold tones from the ice, warm tones at the top. (which is the color of my house)

In my camera bag

My camera(obviously), a 50mm 1.8 and a 18-105 lens, a reflector, an extra battery and SD card (these can really save your life) and my video led light. Oh and not to forget: something to eat!

Feedback

For a shot like this you just have to be lucky with the weather. Also lenses with a very big diafragma will give your image a better overall look. When using a smaller diafragma people don't know where to look.
