Before I left for Canada the Owner of this horse had asked me to do her photoshoot with her and Sanders (the horses name) for her 31st birthday. She never had a single photo of her and Sanders taken before. I, of course inclined and did it for free for her as I didn't have much experience in the field yet. What are birthday presents for?

Yesterday (10.09.13)2 days after entering it to this competition, I recieved a skype call from my parents notifying me that Sanders had caught the Hendro virus and had to be put down. The owner & Sanders were best buddies since a very young age, for about 12 years. This is such a sad story for me as I met this horse at first hand, and had captured the strong connection between Owner & Horse! I am so happy I didn't refuse to do her photoshoot for her, otherwise she would have no "physical" memories of Sanders.

This is just a reminder for people that photographing something or anything isn't always about the colour-composition-clarity-angel-exposures-shutter speeds-ISO's.....For me it's always about the story there is to tell, this is my story.
