Behind The Lens

Location
The photo was taken at Gates Pass just outside of Tucson, Arizona.
Time
The time of day was just after 6:30 am. My wife an left home at 5 am in attempt to catch morning light and wildlife.
Lighting
The sun was just creeping up the mountain and I set the tripod to capture a series of photos. This one caught the lens flare just right.
Equipment
Nikon 5200 with tripod. My intention was to capture some HDR material looking west with the sun at my back. This photo was serindipity.
Inspiration
Right place--right time with a view too good to pass up.
Editing
I'm sure I pushed the foreground shadows down to balance the lighting contrast.
In my camera bag
I always pack a tripod. My mainstay is the Nikon 5200 with 18-55mm lens and the standard 55-300mm lens. I also carry a ring flash and macro extension tubes.
Feedback
Planning a photo like this would give better results. Get up early and use HDR techniques.
